Measuring Distance

Use calibrated linear measurements to measure distances on PDF drawings in DraftPDF.

The Linear Measurement tool places a dimensioned line annotation that shows the real-world distance based on the page scale.

  1. Set the page scale first (see Setting a Drawing Scale).
  2. Select the Linear Measurement tool from the measurement toolbar.
  3. Click to set the start point.
  4. Click again to set the end point.
  5. The dimension label appears automatically with the calculated distance.
Tip:After placing the measurement, select it to adjust line appearance and measurement styling from the properties panel.
Warning:Measurement results are only as accurate as the page scale you set. Always verify the scale against a known reference dimension on the drawing.
